Parents and friends of the school meet on an ad hoc basis as events are scheduled throughout the year. We are appreciative of all the support and help we get from our parents and friends. We have successfully raised money for numerous items of equipment and school visits.

Agenda:

  1. Pub Quiz
  • Spoken to pub and SC about going to the Red House for a meal and a quiz. Not yet had a response.

 

  1. Wreath making
  • Consider bauble decorated as a lot of local businesses doing wreath making 
  • Explore costs – warehouse Cheadle? Wolstanton, dried foliage?
  • Consider painting ceramics – adult colour and sip.
  1. Christmas Tree up
  • Christmas tree to go up on 21st November @ 3pm so children will see it all set up on the Monday.
  • Consider selling baubles to fill for the children at add to the tree.
  1. Christmas Jumpers
  • Combine with toy sale, tea and choir singing carols
  • 5th December – PTA to set up with Y5/6 help after assembly.
  • Speak to MS about choir singing
  • Dojo about dropping off PJ’s and Christmas jumpers now.
  • Consider crazy hair day on 4th December for cakes to sell at the same event – ask Tesco for mince pies
  • Consider selling decoration baubles as above at the event.
  1. Toy Sale – Tea / cakes / choir

  • To go ahead as in previous years
  • Talk to kitchen about N/R parents coming along
  • PTA to support with wrapping /prepping of gifts – date tbd
  • Consider asking Shuker’s for support with bacon / sausages.

  1. Sport Day – refreshments / ice cream?
  • Volunteers from BG and MS for refreshments.
  • Agreed to go for ice cream / ice pops  after the races have finished – SG to action Thursday.
  1. Griffin Shop – what makes great prizes?
  • Fidget toys definitely been most popular in the past
  • Parent going to look at for good offers and send photos to SG to she can purchase.
  1. End of Year disco – sweets, disco, Y6 special?
  • PS agreed to do disco again – very popular last year.
  • Parent happy to support by getting sweets etc
  1. Outdoor project – Tesco, Opal, Ideas – skills of parents
  • Discussed renovation of wooded area using money from Tesco appeal.
  • Ideas from children

  • Coloured paint – paint from tip for free
  • Defining quite area
  • Parent who may have skills to support
  • Parents looking on Facebook market place etc when we have ideas from the children

  • Going to give summer fair a go on 14th June – fathers day focus as it is the day after.
