Hello, my name is Miss Cooke and I am the year 3-4 class teacher. I oversee the Science curriculum here at St. Peter's. I enjoy making science fun for the children through a range of different activities and experiences.

In Tova class, the pupils start the day with FFT’s Jungle Club where we learn a range of different spelling patterns. In English we focus on reading, comprehension, grammar and writing. We participate in a range of activities including role play, making summarises and predicting what might happen next, we make inferences for character’s feelings and motivates and answer a range of comprehension questions. In Maths we follow the White Rose scheme of learning which allows the children to use the skills they have learnt in a range of different scenarios including problem solving. We use a variety of different resources to support the children’s knowledge and understanding in maths.

In Topic we are learning about the Tudors where we are focusing on Tudor England, the monarchs who reigned, significant individuals and events, daily life using a variety of different sources to develop our understanding. In English we are currently reading ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ by William Shakespeare, we are thinking critically to how the presentation and word choice impacts the reader, we are answering comprehension questions using evidence from the text and we are acting out scenes of the book to delve characters feelings and motives throughout different events. We will also be using the information we know to make predictions and to summarise what we have read using evidence from the text.
